The meeting was called to order at 12:07 p.m.

 

Dominika started the meeting and had a few issues to cover for the first Executive Board meeting of 2007:

 

  1. NATCA Academy Training 2007 – Courses include Facility Representative training, Occupational Safety and Health training, Local Officer training, and basic arbitration training.  Local Executive Board members are encouraged to take NATCA training.
  2. Region X office will be moving to the Boston area in February 2007 as announced by Mike McDonald, Region X VP.
  3. The Engineers and Architects contract team has one last session scheduled the end of January 2007 with no additional sessions currently scheduled.
  4. Dominika sent a message to NATCA members requesting that leave donation be considered for members that may have had additional use or lose annual leave due to the unanticipated holiday due to the passing of former President Ford.  An extension was granted to donate annual leave until January 10th.
  5. The Agency has identified a different grievance procedure at or below the Engineering Services level.  There are questions to be addressed regarding the new procedure.
  6. The Union agreed to drop all grievances, except for space and pay retention because of the signing of the MOU.  Those issues are scheduled for arbitration in February and March 2007.
  7. Executive Board representative for Airports Division, Jesse Carriger, will be taking a new position and will require finding a new representative for Airports on the local Executive Board.
  8. NATCA National will be sponsoring a membership drive in 2007.  Dominika is requesting a volunteer to be a focal point for EGL for the recruitment drive.  If interested, please contact Dominika.
